Step-by-Step Cutting Cards
Des cartes de découpage classées du plus facile au plus fin, une par séance.
Step by step
- Print the step-by-step cutting cards (fringes, short snips, straight lines, curves, zigzags) and grab child-safe, blunt-tip scissors.
- Check their grip: thumb in the top loop, pointing up. Gently correct their hand position right away.
- Start with fringes: free snips along the paper's edge, with no lines to follow.
- Move on to the lines: about one card per session, in order of difficulty. If the paper tears or their hand gets tired, drop back a step with no fuss.
- Drop all the paper scraps into a "party confetti box".
- Level up: try tighter curves, then closed shapes (circles, squares) to cut out completely.
What it builds
Opening and closing scissors along a line builds the exact hand muscles and eye-hand coordination needed for writing. It’s one of the best ways to practice before picking up a pencil—plus, you get confetti.
