Hand-to-Hand Toy Pass
Deux hochets présentés du même côté, pour que bébé apprenne à changer de main.
Step by step
- Pick two lightweight, high-contrast rattles that are easy to grip.
- Lay or sit baby down facing you during a calm moment.
- Hand them the first rattle and let them get a good hold on it.
- Offer the second rattle on the same side as the busy hand, then wait without rushing them. If they just drop the first one, no big deal: try again another day, the swap will click soon.
- When they pass the rattle from one hand to the other to grab the new one, celebrate with a big smile.
- Repeat 3 or 4 times, switching sides, then let them play freely with both.
What it builds
Passing a toy from one hand to the other across the belly teaches both hands to work together. This tiny move builds the foundation for everything they will soon do with two hands: holding a bowl, banging blocks together, or turning pages.
