Bead Threading with Pattern Cards
Un lacet, un bol de grosses perles, et des colliers-modèles à reproduire.
Step by step
- Place the chunky beads in a bowl and set the lace on a tray.
- Start with a few sessions of free threading, without any patterns, just to master the movement.
- Show a simple pattern card (red-blue-red-blue) and read the sequence out loud together.
- Let them thread along with the card placed clearly in view.
- At the end, line the necklace up right under the pattern: let your child compare and correct it themselves, not you.
- Level up: try smaller beads, 3-color patterns, or let them make their own pattern card for someone else.
What it builds
Threading beads means one hand holds while the other aims—tricky coordination at this age. Following a pattern turns it into a visual puzzle (which color comes next?) where your child can check their own success without waiting for an adult's verdict.
