Sound and Sight Sensory Bottles
Des bouteilles remplies de riz, de grelots ou d'eau pailletée, à secouer et comparer.
Step by step
- Fill small sturdy bottles with rice, bells, or colored water and glitter, then GLUE the caps shut.
- Give them a good hard shake yourself to check they are leak-proof and solid before handing them over.
- Place two contrasting bottles (one loud, one quiet) in front of your seated baby.
- Shake one, then the other, using exaggerated facial expressions.
- Let baby shake, flip, roll, and watch the swirling glitter drift down.
- Play with contrasts using simple words ("Loud! Gentle..."), then stand the bottles upright in a basket to tidy up.
What it builds
Every bottle makes its own sound and moves in its own way. By shaking them one after the other, baby compares what they see and hear. Sorting the world into "same and different" is the very first step of learning—and it starts right here, through play.
